Rehearsal for the “Dragon Slaying Fight” for St George’s Day 2009. Greg has very limited visibility inside the latex dragon’s head so the moves have to be kept simple. This is the first time they’ve managed to get the entire fight into one continuous sequence. Monty is using an arming sword/shield combination with a recourse to poignard during the latter part of the fight. Greg is using a version of Fiore De Libieri’s judicial combat blade (post Vadi) made by Lancaster’s Armourie. Again his moves can’t really reflect the weapon specific techniques available with this blade because of the obstruction caused by the dragon mask although he manages a couple of scorpions and a nice sotani. We will be making videos demonstrating the use of this and other medieval weapons in the near future. More information at: www.gauntsretinue.com
